Payroll is an extremely important component of every worker’s life. Yet the processing of this crucial transaction is something many employers and workers take for granted.
Payroll is one of the most highly regulated operations of any business. Compliance with a complex system of federal and state legislation is essential.
Despite these challenges, payroll professionals calculate each pay accurately and on time, every time. For this, we salute all payroll professionals during National Payroll Week.
Now in its 16th year, in 2010 we will be running another one of our hugely successful poster campaigns.
This year we really want to continue focusing on raising the profile of payroll.
The 2010 NPW campaign will contain two elements:
Every TAPS Member will receive a NPW poster. This inspirational poster has been designed to validate the payroll profession. Display it proudly in your office, and let your co-workers know how important your job is!!
Additional posters can be downloaded here
During NPW, we are encouraging TAPS members to celebrate their profession and spread the word about the important role payroll plays in the organisation.
To encourage you to participate in NPW, we are also running a competition. We are asking payroll professionals to take a photo of themselves celebrating NPW with their 2010 poster and email it to npw@payroll.com.au by 9th April 2010
Everyone who emails a photo goes into the running to win one of eight “pay cheques”.
This year there are two ways to win.
1. Lucky Photo Prizes
Send in a photo with your poster, and you will go into the lucky draw to win a “pay cheque”.
1st Prize: 1 x $1,000 pay cheque
2nd Prize: 2 x $500 pay cheques
3rd Prize: 4 x $250 pay cheques
PHOTO TIP: Celebrate with a morning tea or lunch and take a photo. If you work alone you can still enter by taking a photo of just you with your poster.

These prizes are awarded as a random draw. Anyone can win.
2. Payroll Ambassador Award
1st Prize: 1 x $1,000 pay cheque
NPW is all about raising the profile of payroll. To win this prize you must provide a photo(s) and details explaining how you (or your team) raised the awareness of payroll.

Here are a few ideas:
• set up an information booth to answer employee questions about their pay
• run an information session for employees about their pay
• do a presentation at the local high school about payroll
• take a photo of your NPW poster with a celebrity
• print out some extra posters and hand them out at the train station
• surprise us with some creative marketing, and you may win the prize!!
By entering for this prize you will also be entered into the lucky photo competition.

NPW 2010 would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. TAPS would like to thank them for their commitment to the payroll community.
